Doctors recommend that you do this slowly and naturally.

Eat lots of fiber, fruits and vegetables, and drink lots of water, at least 2 quarts each day.

Dr Whitaker's Guide to Natural Healing has a good chapter on detoxification.

The cheapest way to cleanse internal organs, especially lower intestine is enema. Enema kits are available in every pharmacy.

To replenish healthy bacteria in the guts with Lactobacillus and other friendly bacteria that usually get depleted with the use of all anti-biotic. Therefore, use any Pro-biotic formulation for a a good health food store.

It may be necessary to supplement yourself with fiber products, including fruits and vegetables.
Please be wary of expensive products geared towards extreme cleanse - usually bogus. It is true that the best way is to eat very whole foods (whole grains, veggies and fruit), drink lots of water and avoid processed foods and sugar as much as possible. For several day to indefinitely. Eat organic or no meat/dairy. Your body will naturally detox, believe me! Some people really feel cleansed after a fast, even a one day juice fast (fresh carrot juice and/or wheat grass) or another traditional method is a one day fast of brown rice. This is not really suggested for those with metabolic/blood sugar issues generally however. Eat lightly and more consciously for awhile and see how you feel. Herbs that support the liver such as dandelion root and milk thistle can help cleanse the body as well. You can drink them as teas (most folks dont like the bitter taste) or capsules or tinctures but get good quality only from an organic food store and not dust from a super chain store.

Again, though, the best and least expensive (to your health long term as well as your pocketbook) is an ongoing commitment to NOURISHING yourself with life giving frsh foods and clean water that your body doesnt have to ';detox'; from!
Bentonite Clay is very effective at absorbing toxins and it only costs $16-$20 a quart bottle. You take 1 tablespoon twice a day.
