Colon Cleansing- Do I REALLY have pounds of fecal matter, parasites & worms in my colon?

I know that you've seen the infomercials that talk about this stuff... that there are '; toxins and parasites'; filling up the large intestines (colon) of hundreds of people and that we need to use their ($$$) stuff to flush out the impurities. Is there any truth to this? Would a standard enema be enough to flush out the colon? What about the flushing aid called Golightly that one has to drink before a colonoscopy... wouldn't that work? Or, does this scheme just fit into the snake oil category? I would ask here that people from a medical background please respond to my question- Thanks!!!Colon Cleansing- Do I REALLY have pounds of fecal matter, parasites %26amp; worms in my colon?
The whole thing about pounds of fecal matter and such inside you is just a bunch of malarky invented by someone to get all the gullible people to part with their money for nothing.

Anyone that has ever had a colonoscopy and watched the monitor as the doctor did the scope knows there is no such thing as a bunch of junk stuck to the inside of your colon or anywhere else.

Golytely is used as a prep for a colonoscopy and flushes the system of anything that might be in there. In the states you need a prescription to buy it for use. If you want something to clean you out quickly and efficiently spend $1.29 at the drug store and buy some castor oil and take about 3 - 4 tablespoonfuls of it and in about 3 hours your insides will be outside and you won't have to worry about a thing. It will clean you out good.

Though it is very gross to think about some studies show it to be true. I had some major stomach problems and came across some blogs and sites that would recommend Herbal supplements. I asked my doctor and he told me to try Coltox. After a few weeks all my problems were gone and lost some weight :) Report Abuse

I was a nurse for several years. As long as you eat plenty of fibrous vegetables, whole grains, and drink plenty of water your colon should be working just fine.

No reason to spend any money on that. And using cleanses like laxatives and enemas can cause severe dehydration and damage to the rectal tissue if used too often.
Every mammal on the planet has the same digestive process that you do. Do they all need enemas or cleansing? Eat more roughage, that will clean you out.
Man, don't give yourself enemas or laxatives if you have no symptoms. That definitely fits in the snake oil category. There are organisms living in your colon and it's good they're there. They help provide some vitamins and keep bad bugs from growing. It's one of medicine's current challenges to kill bugs in other parts of your body while leaving the 'flora' in your colon intact.

If you have toxins or parasites in your colon, you're generally going to know. They hurt and cause diarrhea, often bloody diarrhea.
not in your colon but in your upper GI track.
I just got done with one of the products that you are talking about and I highly recommend it. Yes it is costly but I feel better and more energetic. It was not like the commercial where 20 pounds of worms came out, but I did have some instances and fell great. I also made other changes during he same time such as no more processed food and sodas so that help also.
toxins do not build up in your colon or other part of your GI tract. do not worry about nonesense like that. those ad's are good for getting rid of the excess cash that builds up in your pocket. enemas, colyte, or other brands are only needed when there is a medical need like colonoscopy or constipation. my 2 cents as a pharmacist is that they are all snake oil salesman,
My opinion is that you do not have 'pounds', but you do have build up that inhibit absorption of nutrients.

go lightly won't do it.

using probiotics is a good idea (prerefrigerated if possible)

If you are serious about cleansing, try black wallnut hull. (1drop or capsule) 2nd day (2 drop or 1 capsule) 3rd day (3 drop or 1 capsule) 4th day (4 drop or 1 capsule) 5th day (5 drop or 1 capsule) 6th day (2 teaspoons) once a week thereafter (2 teaspoons or 2 capsules)
