How watermelon can cleanse your kidney?

Many people says that to cleanse your kidney, you need to drink a lot of watermelon juice and plain water. Are there any scientific or medical studies to prove this? How watermelon can cleanse your kidney?
Well that makes a bit of sense cause water is what cleanses the kidney and watermelon in 99 percent water! How watermelon can cleanse your kidney?
I have never heard of watermelon juice. I do know that watermelon is one of many natural diuretics. However, I have drank cranberry juice, along with lots of water when I have had a kidney infection, if that is what you are referring to.
Well, some people believe it can, but there are no scientific studies to prove it. And there is a good reason why there probably never will be:

It is a popular ';natural'; or home remedy for kidney stones, but the reality is that just drinking a lot of plain water (which watermelon contains a high percentage of anyway) is good for helping to remove kidney stones - it simply assists in naturally flushing them through the urinary system.

As for ';cleansing'; the kidneys, well it's a bit of a mystery why people talk about ';detoxing'; and ';cleansing'; the kidneys. They are your body's main waste filters anyway! They remove waste material from your blood and excrete it out through your urine. So why on earth would you need to ';cleanse'; them, when their main purpose is already to extract the waste and dump it overboard, and they do a darn good job of it? It's a bit like saying you want to ';cleanse'; your septic pipe from your toilet which runs under your house and into the sewer. What's the point? It is designed to carry waste and will happily do so for probably your entire lifetime. That's just what it does.

In any case, watermelon won't hurt your kidneys at all, but good old fashioned H2O would do the same thing - it just wouldn't taste as nice! If you consume a sensible and normal amount of water/liquids each day, your kidneys will be just fine. They don't need ';flushing'; unless you happen to have a kidney stone.
