What is the best acne fighting, face cleansing/helping, oil removing KIT out there (other than pro-active)?

The obagi nuderm system. It is kinda pricy but totaly works. Not only helps clear up acne, but helps get rid of hyperpigmentation (dark or red spots) and acne scars. It works by balancing the PH levels of the skin, fighting acne and exfoliating damaged layers of skin, revealing the fresh, new and blemish free skin underneath.





It is a 6 step kit. You have a face wash (which works awesome. I wear a lot of make up and one wash with this cleanser and its all GONE); a non drying toner. A product called clear, which has hydroquinone in it to help fading those scars which you use morning and night. Next is the exoderm, which has alpha hydroxy acids to help exfoilate that bad skin off (use in the morning only.) Blender, which is another resurfacer that exfoliates AND helps fade. (You usually mix this with retin a and then apply it at night only) Next is the sunfader, which is a fading product with sunscreen in it to keep those scars from coming back (use in the AM.)





It is best to see a dermitologist because the items that have the fading ingredient are by perscription only because it is a high concentration of product. Also, Dr.'s are the only ones who can perscribe the Retin a (trust me, if you have tried retin a in the past and it sucks, it works awesome with this system.) Your dr may also want to perscribe a topical antibiotic that you apply morning and night after your toner.

Stop buying into the commercials and ads use good ole soap and water then wipe face with regular household Alcohol if you have dry skin put a little baby oil. If you have oily skin then the last step is wipe face with Alcohol. Total price $2.00.
Biore wipes are the best for me. Got rid of it all. Just recommend a few things. After you wipe, wash off face with cold water, and then cream asap.
Ivory soap
Anything with Benzoyl Peroxide in it, preferably 10% strength, whether it's Oxy-10 or Clearasil or any other, make sure it's got the Benzoyl Peroxide. It is summer, so a good tan can go a long way in clearing up acne, the only problem is after you tan for a while everything starts to come back.

I've tried a few different products. Here are some with which I have had success:





1. There are sulfur-based soaps that you can have your pharmacist special order. They're usually around $6-10, so for the money, they're your best bargain. The literally dry out the oil on your skin and treat more cystic blemishes. However, because they can be so drying, you should only use them once a day. The real downside is that people often have allergies to sulfur, and can't use them without sometimes severe reactions. Not sure whether you have that type of allergy? Your mom or your doctor should know. This is great when used in conjunction with a salicylic acid-based cleanser, like the Whoosh! discussed below.





2. Murad, which is available at Ulta, Sephora, and sephora.com, has a great acne kit. The trial kit, which is designed to last for 30 days, runs about $35. The actual kit, which is $60-70 dollars, should last fot about 3-4 months, although you may have to replace parts of it, which you can do, since each element of the treatment is sold separately. The kit is different from ProActiv, because it uses salicylic acid rather than benzoil peroxide to treat the skin. Added botanicals like arnica will treat redness.





3. Philosophy, which is available at sephora.com or on QVC, also makes a great acne kit which costs around $49. Though I've never tried it personally, I've heard from colleagues that it works great.





4. Benefit makes a cleanser called Whoosh! that works remarkably well. It's what I use to keep my skin acne free every day. A bottle costs about $20, and lasts for over six months, because it only takes one pump of foam to get your entire face clean. You can buy it at department stores and at Sephora or sephora.com. You can also buy the companion scrub, Bionic Blast, for body acne and once a week exfoliating on your face.





5. If you're really having problems, you might try an aggressive treatment protocol from a company like Peter Thomas Roth, combining their Medicated 10% BPO Acne Wash ($32), Glycolic Acid Clarifying Toner ($32), and AHA/BHA Acne Clearing Gel ($45). Seems expensive right? Well, sort of. All of these products should last for 4-5 months, so you'll only need to invest a couple of times a year. This protocol is not for the faint of heart, though, and shouldn't be used on sensitive skin. All of these products are available at sephora.com or Sephora.





Some products I've learned to avoid? Noxema, Oil of Olay, Moisturizer (JUST DRINK WATER), Sea Breeze, and St. Ives Apricot Scrub of any kind.
clearasil ultra will clear up acne right away
ive found that washing your face thouroughly in the shower and getting a lot of sun to your face (w/o burning) helps acne go away. also try using just plain alcohol and cotton balls... worked for me
I like the biore products, the ice cleanser is really good for minimising blemishes and the oil control moisturiser is really really really good. I use the biore toner too.





If you have been having trouble with acne and spots for a long time then you can go to the Dr's and get a prescription for some tablets or cream to take to get rid of them.
There's this one product called Klear Action and it works really well. There is only three steps. It's supposed to ba a lot like Pro-active. I use it and it works really well for me. It takes about a week for the product to work but after that it works really well. Of course everyone's skin isdifferent but Klear Action is worth a try.
